Jesus Already Answered Your Biggest Question

The manufacturer determines the purpose of a product, not the product itself. A phone doesn’t decide what it’s for. A lamp doesn’t redefine its function. The one who designed it defines its purpose. In the same way, we don’t invent our purpose, we receive it from the One who created us.

In Matthew 5:13–14 (MSG), Jesus says, “Let me tell you why you are here…” That means the question we wrestle with most ‘What am I here for?’ has already been answered.

First, you are here to bring out the God-flavors in the world. God-flavors are what people experience when they interact with you. Grace that feels undeserved. Truth that is clear without being cruel. Mercy that leans toward compassion. Joy that is steady, not performative. Peace that remains calm in chaos. Patience. Kindness. Faithfulness. Hope. When someone walks away from you, what’s the aftertaste? That’s the flavor your life is releasing.

Second, you are here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God-colors are what people see. Love. Justice. Compassion. Holiness. Integrity. Joy. Peace. Just like sunlight reveals the true colors of a landscape, your life is meant to reveal the true character of God. It’s not about religious branding. It’s about visible transformation.

Both matter equally. Flavor makes faith tangible. Light makes faith visible. You are called to be experienced and seen, to make heaven felt and God known. You don’t have to chase purpose. Jesus already answered your biggest question. Make the world taste like heaven. Make the world see Him clearly.
